چکیده

The Physical Optic (PO) surface integral has been expressed in its basic components by the unique Modified Edge Representation (MER) currents line integration definition. The Scatterer Geometrical Optics (SGO) component field is associated with the Stationary Phase Point (SPP) bellowing to the illuminated region of the scatterer and the diffracted field component with its illuminated boundary. The MER currents line integration around the SPP and along the boundary of the illuminated scatterer region recovers the SGO and the diffracted components respectively. The diffracted component is proved to be independent on the SPP contribution and both of them are calculated only by the MER.

Simulation of Light-Nanowire Interaction in the TE Mode Using Surface Integral Equations

In this paper, the scattering of a plane monochromatic electromagnetic wave from a nanowire with circular cross-section in the transverse electric (TE) mode is simulated using the well-known Stratton-Chu surface integral equations. For an ordinary dielectric nanowire the refraction phenomenon is nicely simulated. In the case of a plasmonic nanowire no sign of surface plasmon excitation and prop...

Modified Physical Optics Approximation for RCS Calculation of Electrically Large Objects with Coated Dielectric

The Radar Cross Section of a target plays an important role in the detection of targets by radars‎. ‎This paper presents a new method to predict the bistatic and monostatic RCS of coated electrically large objects. ‎The bodies can be covered by lossy electric and/or magnetic Radar Absorbing Materials (RAMs)‎. ‎These materials can be approximated by the Fresnel reflection coefficients‎. ‎The pro...

Far Field Radiation Pattern Calculation of the Parabolic Reflector Antenna in Terms of Line Integrals by the Modified Edge Representation

This paper presents the Physical Optics field calculation in terms of only line integrations by using the Modified Edge Representation technique (MER), the alternative way of the surface integration. Not only the diffracted fields as in the conventional method of equivalent edge currents (EEC) but also the scattering geometrical optics fields are expressed in terms of the MER line integrals. Th...

Physical Optics Calculation of Electromagnetic Scattering From Haack Series Nose Cone

In this paper, the physical optics method is used to study the problem of electromagnetic scattering from Haack series nose cone. First, a meshing scheme is introduced which approximates the curvature of the surface by piecewise linear functions in both axial and rotational directions. This results in planar quadrilateral patches and enables efficient determination of the illuminated region and...

AN Improved UTD Based Model For The Multiple Building Diffraction Of Plane Waves In Urban Environments By Using Higher Order Diffraction Coeficients

This paper describes an improved model for multiple building diffraction modeling based on the uniform theory of diffraction (UTD). A well-known problem in conventional uniform theory of diffraction (CUTD) is multiple-edge transition zone diffraction. Here, higher order diffracted fields are used in order to improve the result; hence, we use higher order diffraction coefficients to improve a hy...
